In Nostradamus' Epistle to Henri, he describes the pinnacles of military power for each of The Children of the Great Sterile Dame.

The Eastern Orthodox Church represents The Second Son and Russia.

The Russian army marching over the Alps will be the pinnacle achievement in war for The Second Son of the Great Dame. How this will materialize is the question. The United States and Russia will first be enemies and go to war over events in Syria and Iran. Ultimately, both sides will unite to fight the Chinese-Islamic Alliance.

How far Russia will move into Europe after hostilities with NATO begin is not clear...

Great St. Bernard Pass is one of the highest valleys in the Alps. It is the passageway between Martignyville, Switzerland and Aosta, Italy. In approximately 69 CE, the Romans built a road through the pass to reach Gaul and they also built a temple to Jupiter Poeninus at the summit of the valley, where the ruins remain to this day. In 1800 Napoleon returned from Egypt to lead his armies back over the Alps after they were retreating from Northern Italy. The first of the French reserve of forty thousand soldiers advanced through Great St. Bernard Pass to Aosta, Italy on May 17th, 1800. There are no other recorded crossings by any another army since Nostradamus wrote this prediction.

This ironic metaphor for Jove identifies the party attacking Israel in Paragraph 34 in The Epistle to Henri.

The irony of the Russian army passing the ruins to the Temple of Jove in great St. Bernard's Pass to conquer large sections of Europe was not lost on Nostradamus.

This is why all Nostradamus’ references to “Jovialists” are the old prophet thumbing his nose to the 21st century business model. The “Jovialists” are symbolic of the greedy Capitalists that ignite World War III and who the Russians once venerated after the Cold War.

Therefore, the prediction in Paragraph 34:2 means that Russian forces will eventually surround the West Bank and Israel.
